The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has launched "Angikaar 2025", a nationwide awareness and outreach campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). The campaign was officially inaugurated by Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on 4 September 2025 in New Delhi.
Running from 4 September to 31 October 2025, Angikaar 2025 is designed to accelerate housing delivery, enhance beneficiary awareness, and ensure last-mile implementation of PMAY-U. The campaign will be implemented across over 5,000 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in India.

Promote PMAY-U 2.0 through door-to-door campaigns, housing camps, cultural programmes, and loan fairs.
Ensure outreach across all ULBs by October 2025.
Accelerate Implementation
Expedite verification of pending applications.
Facilitate completion of 25.89 lakh houses still under construction out of the sanctioned 120 lakh houses.
Promote Financial Access
Create awareness about the Credit Risk Guarantee Fund Trust for Low-Income Housing (CRGFTLIH).
Ease loan access for economically weaker and low-income groups.
Scheme Convergence
Link PMAY-U beneficiaries with other flagship schemes such as:
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana for free electricity.
Priority housing for women, transgender, and vulnerable groups.

Features:
Houses up to 45 sq. metres, all-weather, for urban poor and middle-class families.
Central subsidy of up to ₹2.50 lakh per family.
Total investment: ₹10 lakh crore, including ₹2.3 lakh crore as central assistance.
Under PMAY-U (2015-2022), about 120 lakh houses were sanctioned, with 94.11 lakh houses already completed and handed over to beneficiaries.
