New Central Government Scheme: ₹15,000 Support for First-Time Private Sector Employees
In a major announcement during his Independence Day address at the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a new employment-linked scheme called “Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana (PMVBRY).”
This initiative is aimed at encouraging private sector job creation and supporting young professionals who are entering formal employment for the very first time. Under the scheme, eligible employees will receive ₹15,000 as direct financial support from the government, while employers who generate additional jobs will also be given incentives.
The scheme will be in force until July 31, 2027, and the government has allocated an estimated ₹99,446 crore to implement it, with the target of creating more than 3.5 crore new jobs across India.
Key Highlights of PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana
Financial Assistance for Employees
Young professionals who join a formal private sector job for the first time will get ₹15,000 in two installments.
First installment after 6 months of continuous employment, and second installment after 12 months.
The second installment will be directly credited to the employee’s savings account, encouraging long-term financial discipline.

Why This Scheme Matters
The PM Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana is not just about direct cash benefits; it’s a push towards:
Boosting formal employment: Encourages youth to join the organized sector with social security benefits (EPF, ESI).
Job creation: Employers are incentivized to expand their workforce rather than maintain stagnant numbers.
Economic growth: With a target of 3.5 crore jobs, this scheme aligns with India’s broader vision of becoming a $5 trillion economy.
Youth empowerment: Helps fresh graduates and first-time workers bridge the gap between education and employment.
Summary:
If you are a new entrant in the private sector with a salary of up to ₹1 lakh, you can get ₹15,000 from the government in two installments under this scheme. At the same time, your employer also benefits by receiving cash incentives for hiring more people.
This is a win-win initiative designed to promote job creation, strengthen the formal workforce, and provide financial relief to young employees as they begin their careers.
