Target: Provide 1 crore internship opportunities to youth (2024–2029) in India’s top companies.
Applicants must:
Be 21–24 years old at the time of application.
Have completed Class 10 / Class 12 / Diploma / Undergraduate Degree (e.g., BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, B.Pharma).
Not be in full-time regular education or employment (distance/online learners are eligible).
Monthly Stipend: ₹5,000 (₹4,500 from Govt. via DBT + ₹500 from industry CSR funds).
Joining Grant: ₹6,000 one-time at commencement.
Insurance Coverage: All interns are enrolled under
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana

(premium paid by Government).

Complete Aadhaar-based eKYC.
Build applicant profile (education, skills, sector preference).
Select up to 3–5 internship choices.
Submit and wait for company shortlisting & offer.
Pilot Phases (Official Data):
Phase I (Oct–Dec 2024): ~1.27 lakh internships offered, ~82,000 offers made, ~8,700 joined.
Phase II (Jan–Apr 2025): ~1.18 lakh internships, ~71,000 offers made.
As one of the largest PSUs, ONGC offers interns under PMIS:
Food allowance: ₹5,000/month.
Accommodation support: ₹5,000/month for outstation interns.
Travel facility, PPE, accidental insurance.
Skill development: HR, Finance, Communication, Personality Development, and technical exposure.
Certificate issued on completion.
Lower-than-expected conversion (many applicants didn’t join due to distance/location, work expectations).
Attrition: Some interns left before completion.
Stipend delays: Being addressed by Govt. with improved DBT and monitoring.
