The Telangana government has launched the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana and the Empowerment of Youth Scheme to strengthen economic support for minority communities across the state. The initiatives aim to promote self-employment, women empowerment, and livelihood assistance for traditional occupational groups.
The schemes are being implemented through the Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation (TSMFC).
The programmes were formally launched by Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohammed Azharuddin in the presence of Advisor for Minorities Welfare Mohammad Ali Shabbir and representatives of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society.
Under the Empowerment of Youth Scheme, eligible minority youth can receive subsidised e-scooters to support self-employment opportunities.
Unit Cost: Up to ₹1.5 lakh
Government Subsidy: 80%
Beneficiary Contribution: 20%
This initiative is designed to improve mobility and create income-generating opportunities for unemployed youth.
Under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana, eligible minority women are provided financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 per beneficiary.
Additionally, sewing machines are being distributed under the Indiramma Minority Mahila Shakti Scheme to encourage small-scale and home-based businesses.
The government has also announced special assistance for the Turka Kasha Muslim community. Beneficiaries will receive:
