Telangana Government to Distribute ‘Indiramma Sarees’ for Bathukamma Festival

ఇందిరాగాంధీ జయంతి సందర్భంగా మహిళలకు చీరల పంపిణీ ప్రారంభం

 మహిళా సంఘాల సభ్యులకు పంపిణీ చేయాల్సిన చీరల కార్యక్రమం బతుకమ్మ, దసరా పండుగలకు వాయిదా పడిన సంగతి తెలిసిందే. అయితే రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వం ఈసారి నవంబర్ 19, దివంగత ప్రధానమంత్రి ఇందిరాగాంధీ జయంతి సందర్భంగా చీరలను పంపిణీ చేయాలని నిర్ణయించింది.

మునుపటి ప్రభుత్వం పంపిణీ చేసిన చీరల నాణ్యతపై విమర్శలు రావడంతో, కొత్త ప్రభుత్వం అత్యంత నాణ్యమైన చీరలను అందిస్తుందని హామీ ఇచ్చింది. చీరలను ప్రత్యేకంగా చేనేత కార్మికులు తయారు చేశారు.

జిల్లా అవసరం: మొత్తం 1.94 లక్షల చీరలు, జిల్లాలోని 18,848 మహిళా గ్రూపులుకి ఒక్కో చీర. ప్రస్తుతానికి 50% చీరలు గోడౌన్లలో లభ్యమవుతున్నాయి.

పంపిణీ వ్యవస్థ: గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో సెర్ప్, పట్టణ ప్రాంతాల్లో మెప్మా ఆధ్వర్యంలో చీరలు అందించబడతాయి. మహిళలకు 6.5 మీటర్లు, వృద్ధులకు 9 మీటర్లు పొడవు గల చీరలు తయారు చేస్తారు.

నాణ్యతపై ప్రత్యేక శ్రద్ధ: సిరిసిల్ల, కరీంనగర్, వరంగల్ ప్రాంతాల్లో అత్యుత్తమ నాణ్యత గల చీరలు తయారు చేసి, ఒక్కో చీర రూ. 800 విలువ గలదని ప్రభుత్వం ప్రకటించింది.

ఈ విధంగా ఇందిరమ్మ చీరల పథకం ద్వారా నవంబర్ 19న జిల్లా మహిళలకు చీరలు పంపిణీ చేయనున్నారు.

తెలంగాణలో బతుకమ్మ చీరల పంపిణీ – 2025 దసరా కానుక

ఉపాధి అవకాశాలు లభించక నేతన్నలు అగచాట్లు పడుతున్న తరుణంలో..గత ప్రభుత్వం ప్రవేశపెట్టిన ఉచిత చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమం కొంతమేర అండగా నిలిచింది. అదే బాటలో నడుస్తున్న కాంగ్రెస్‌ ప్రభుత్వం..రాబోయే దసరా పండగ కానుకగా చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమాన్ని వేగవంతం చేస్తోంది. దాదాపు 65 లక్షల మంది మహిళలకు చీరలు అందించేందుకు సిద్ధం అవుతోంది. ఒక్కో మహిళకు రెండు చీరలు ఇచ్చేందుకు తెలంగాణ సర్కారు నిర్ణయించింది. ఇందుకోసం ఒక కోటి 30 లక్షల చీరలు అవసరం కానుండగా..వాటన్నింటినీ రాష్ట్రంలోని నేత కార్మికులతోనే తయారు చేయించాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయం తీసుకుంది. ఈ పథకం కోసం 3 వందల18 కోట్ల రూపాయలు మంజూరు చేసింది. రాష్ట్రంలో 32 వేలకు పైగా మరమగ్గాలు ఉండగా సుమారు 10 వేల కార్మికులు పని చేస్తున్నారు

తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వం రాబోయే దసరా పండుగ సందర్భంగా ఉచిత చీరల పంపిణీ కార్యక్రమాన్ని వేగవంతం చేస్తోంది. ఈ పథకం కింద రాష్ట్రవ్యాప్తంగా సుమారు 65 లక్షల మహిళలకు రెండు చీరల చొప్పున ఇవ్వనున్నారు. మొత్తం 1 కోటి 30 లక్షల చీరలు అవసరం కాగా, ఇవన్నీ రాష్ట్రంలోని చేనేత కార్మికులతోనే తయారు చేయాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది.

In celebration of the Dussehra festival, the Telangana government is preparing to distribute sarees to girls across the state. Unlike the previous government’s low-quality sarees, this time each girl will receive two beautiful sarees worth ₹800 each, totaling ₹1,600. The distribution will be carried out under the Indiramma Mahila Shakti Scheme, and the sarees will be provided free of cost to women across Telangana. A total of 65 lakh sarees are expected to be distributed this month.

Dussehra in Telangana is not only a major festival but also a highlight for the Bathukamma celebrations. Many people who travel far for education, work, or employment opportunities make it a point to return home during the festival. For every girl, wearing a new saree during the festival is a source of joy, and families try to buy new clothes if their financial situation allows. Even if the entire family cannot afford new outfits, parents often ensure their daughters get new sarees for Dussehra.

Recognizing this tradition, previous Telangana governments had also distributed Bathukamma sarees to women. However, under the BRS government, many of the sarees were of low quality, leading to criticism and reluctance among recipients to use them. Learning from past mistakes, the current Congress-led government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is distributing high-quality sarees for girls during this year’s Bathukamma festival.

Each recipient will receive two durable and elegant sarees worth ₹800 each, distributed under the Indiramma Mahila Shakti Scheme from September 22 to 30. The initiative has also provided employment opportunities to over 6,000 handloom workers. Social media is already buzzing with images of these sarees, and many girls are eagerly looking forward to receiving them. The distribution is expected to begin later this month, making this Dussehra a memorable one for thousands of families in Telangana.
 

Quality Focus

Unlike the previous government’s Bathukamma sarees, which drew criticism for being made from low-quality polyester fabric, officials have assured that the Indiramma sarees this year will be of superior quality, each valued at approximately ₹800. The procurement, processing, and storage of fabric is being centrally coordinated, with stocks moved to Hyderabad for finishing.

Employment & Social Impact

The initiative not only prepares for a smooth Bathukamma distribution but also provides year-round employment opportunities for Sircilla’s handloom weavers. Officials said production has already crossed 2.3 crore meters of cloth, with work progressing at a fast pace to meet the festival deadline.
