The Telangana Congress government is set to implement two of its key election promises - monthly pensions of ₹4,000 for senior citizens and financial assistance of ₹2,500 for women - in the near future.
Former MLA Jagga Reddy said on Sunday that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is actively working to arrange the necessary budget allocations for both welfare schemes. He urged the public to be patient, assuring that the benefits would reach eligible citizens soon after the financial groundwork is completed.
The pension and women's assistance schemes were among the major welfare pledges made by the Congress during the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections, aimed at supporting the elderly and empowering women through direct cash transfers.
