The Telangana Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is a flagship welfare initiative by the Government of Telangana aimed at empowering women from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups. Launched in 2023, the scheme provides financial assistance to women to build safe and durable homes on their own land, ensuring security, dignity, and better living conditions for families across the state.
Objective of the Scheme The main goal of the Gruha Lakshmi Scheme is to help women who cannot afford to construct their own homes. By focusing on land-owning women from EWS, SC, ST, and BC communities, the scheme promotes women's empowerment and addresses housing needs for marginalized sections of society.
Financial Assistance Under the scheme, the Telangana government provides ₹3,00,000 for house construction. The funds are released in three stages to ensure phased construction and proper utilization:
| Installment | Construction Stage | Amount (₹) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Basement Level | 1,00,000 |
| 2 | Roof Laid Stage | 1,00,000 |
| 3 | Completion Stage | 1,00,000 |
